Frequently Asked Questions
- How quickly do you respond to quote requests?
- We respond to all inquiries within one business day. For urgent situations — a Class I service restriction, a pending audit, or a derailment — call us directly at (704) 321-0802. We answer urgent calls outside normal business hours.
- What information should I have ready when I contact you?
- The more detail you can provide, the faster we can scope your project. Helpful information includes: the approximate length and configuration of your track, your Class I railroad connection, any known deficiencies or recent Class I notices, your preferred inspection timing, and any specific compliance, audit, or incident context. You do not need to have all of this ready — a basic conversation about your facility is enough to get started.
- Do you require a long-term contract for inspection services?
- No. We work on a project basis as well as ongoing programs. A single inspection is a completely normal engagement. Clients who want a recurring monthly or quarterly program can commit to one, but there is no requirement to do so before your first inspection. Many clients start with a one-time baseline inspection and decide on a program from there.
- What does a track inspection typically cost?
- Cost depends on the length of the track, the complexity of the configuration, travel requirements, and the scope of documentation needed. All pricing is fixed and provided upfront — you know the cost before any work begins. Contact us with a description of your track and we will provide a specific price. We do not publish general rate schedules because every project is different.
- Can you work with our Class I railroad directly if needed?
- Yes. Our inspectors speak the language of Class I track departments and can coordinate directly with your railroad's track representative when that is helpful — for example, when a reinstatement inspection needs to be accepted by the carrier, or when audit timing needs to be coordinated. We work alongside your Class I relationship, not around it.
